Looking for a wine tasting Chianti Rufina? Tuscany is famous worldwide for its excellent and varied production of wine. However Mugello&Tuscany wants to give a better insight into one precise kind of wine namely the Chianti Rufina. The Chianti Rufina is a wine variety typical of the eastern part of the Mugello.

Our winery is set on a beautiful hill overlooking both the Valdisieve and Mugello valleys. The area is of outstanding beauty and quintessentially Tuscan. Rows of cypresses leading to historic mansions and monasteries, apennine mountains, olive groves and vineyards.

The experience “Wine Tasting Chianti Rufina” includes the visit of a family-run winery, its vineyards and cellars.Our guide will lead you into a glourious wine tasting experience. 4 different wines with breadsticks and slices of bread with extra vergin olive oil form the farm’s olive groves.

Besides various types of Chianti Rufina the winery also offers a top class Vin Santo. This is a liqueur wine which comes from organic grapes. The process of making the vin santo can be difficult. The grapes are taken to a well ventilated attic, where they are left to dry on cane or wooden racks for a few months. The grapes are then pressed and the precious liquid is set to rest thus honing its aging in small oak barrels even for several years.

After the vinery tour we will reach the town of Borgo for a Tuscan lunch in a typical local Osteria.
